Picual

Picual

Much like wine varieties, each olive oil variety has unique characters affecting yield, taste, aroma and durability. The picual variety represents about 90% of the olive trees planted in the Jaen region of Andalusia, Spain, the largest olive growing area in the world. picual has quickly adapted to Australia’s conditions and become one of our most popular oil varieties. The picual grown in Australia is recognised for its premium flavours and aromas more than anywhere else in the world.

Our single varietal picual extra virgin olive oil displays complex rocket salad, green tomato and tomato leaf aromas. On the palate it is fresh and flavoursome, combining green, grassy notes with balanced bitterness and a pleasant peppery aftertaste. This is an extremely versatile oil that is ideal for salads, pasta and simply dipping crusty bread.
